The volleyball club VCE/PSV (Volleybal Combinatie Eindhoven / Philips Sport Vereniging) is formed on 13 June 1985 after a merger between the volleyball clubs PSV and Rust Roest.
Within the club there are within the club two departments. The Nevobo department, which is based on a prestation line and a ‘sports for all line’ (under Technical Committee you can see what this means) and the Midweek department.
During the 2018/2019 season VCE/PSV will take part in the regional Nevobo competition, region South, with 7 senior teams. The first men’s team participates in 3rd division and the first ladies team participates in the promotion class. The other teams play 1st class to 3rd class.
There is also a large Midweek department. This department exist of 7 ladies- and 4 men’s teams in the season 2018/2019. During the week, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening these teams participate in the recreational competitions of Nuvoc Dames Recreatie Competitie’ and ‘VC Geldrop Heren Competitie’. The first men’s team participates in ‘Overgangsklasse’ and the first ladies team in ‘Hoofdklasse’. The other teams participate in levels ranging from 5th class up to and including ‘Overgangsklasse’. All Midweek competition teams train one time per week and play their home matches during their trainings evening; instead of their training.
At VCE/PSV there are also opportunities for the youth to play volleyball. Children from 5 to 11 years old can get acquainted with playful volleyball. They will play the so-called Cool Moves Volley.
Six levels are distinguished, which means that children learn volleyball step by step. The CMV’ers take part in a competition in tournament shape. In the season 2018/2019 13 teams participate in this competition.
The C-Youth (aged 12 to 14 years), B-youth (from 14 to 16 years) and A-youth (from 16 to 18 years) of VCE/PSV will participate with 13 teams in the regional Nevobo competition, region South.
The contest- and training accommodation of VCE/PSV is the sports hall of the ‘Sporthogeschool’ at the Theo Koomenlaan 3 in
Eindhoven. The CMV’ers train in four groups on two different locations in town; in the sports hall of the ‘Sporthogeschool’ and in the ‘Tennishal Noord’ at the Vijfkamplaan 10. The addresses can be found at Sporthal.
